The difference

Same market. Different system.

Most new agents don't fail because they aren't cut out for this. They fail because they're handed a desk and a logo and left alone. NAR's own data shows the gap. Put the same person inside a real system and the numbers change.

Most brokerages win whether you win or not. We don't. We invest in you before your first deal, hand you a staff, a system and a coach, and hold you to it every single week.

Other brokerages sell you pens. We hand you a staff.

Splits vs. take-home · The Shark Tank rule

90% of a grape is smaller than 50% of a watermelon.

The industry trained agents to obsess over their split. Your bank account doesn't care about your split. It cares about how many deals you close, what you keep, and what you spend to get them. Move the sliders and see for yourself.

Example numbers only, not a promise of earnings or an offer of terms. We'll walk you through real economics, line by line, over coffee.

The split trap

Everyone wants your money. Few give you a return.

Real estate is a feeding frenzy, and new agents are the meal. Brokerages sell you a bigger split, then sell you everything else: magnets, pens, headshots, business cards, website design, lead programs, coaching. Nobody keeps the split they were promised.

Every business needs investment. You have to spend money to make money. Most agents either can't afford to, or spend it in the wrong places on things that were never proven. We've already made those investments, tested them on 1,250 closings a year, and kept only what works. So you spend your time, energy and money on the one thing that pays you: selling.

Who you're around decides who you become

Surround yourself with winners. The science agrees.

You know the feeling.

An open house where nobody comes. A month with no closings and nobody who notices. Scripts you've never said out loud to anyone. A broker who gets paid either way. Most agents don't quit because they can't do this job. They quit because they're doing it alone.

Our unfair advantage

Accountability is the highest form of love.

Most brokers are scared of accountability. So they leave you alone and call it freedom.

We hold up a mirror to your business every week: your numbers, your conversations, your follow-up. If you're off track, you'll hear it from us before it shows up in your bank account.

You're not hiring us to be your friend. You're hiring us to get a result.

“There's a strong sense of accountability that pushes everyone to perform at their best, but it's done in a way that feels motivating rather than overwhelming.”

FAQ

Straight answers.

Still have a question? Call or text Koby at 402.800.6500 or email agents@thebrileyteam.com.

“Don't teams take all your money?”
Some do. Ours doesn't. You get leads, a staff, a coach and over $50,000 a year of support you'd otherwise pay for yourself. We'll walk you through the real economics, line by line, over coffee.
Will I make more at a brokerage with a higher split?
Not usually. A higher split means you pay for your own leads, marketing, assistant, CRM and coaching, which can run $50,000+ a year. Most agents can't afford that, or spend it in the wrong places. Take-home pay comes from deals closed minus what you spent to get them. Our agents average 15+ closings a year. The NAR median is 9.
Will I lose my own brand?
No. You build your name with the #1 team behind it, and we give you your own website, signs and business cards to do it.
Are the meetings really required?
Yes. That's the point. Training only works if you show up for it.
Do I get leads?
Yes. Team leads from Zillow Preferred, Realtor.com and our own marketing, worked first by our ISAs and AI, so you spend your time on real conversations.
Can I do this part-time while I keep my job?
No. Full time only. Have 4 months of income saved and treat it like the career it is.
I'm licensed, but my first year was rough. Is real estate just not for me?
Probably not. NAR data shows the typical agent in their first two years closes a median of 2 transactions and earns about $8,000, and industry data shows 20% to 30% of licensees quit before year three. That's a training and support problem, not a talent problem. Several of our top agents struggled somewhere else first.
How hard is it to switch brokerages?
Easier than most agents think. Your license moves to our broker, and we help with the paperwork, your new website, signs, business cards and getting your database into Follow Up Boss. Talk to us confidentially first. Nobody needs to know until you decide.
How long does it take to get a real estate license in Nebraska?
Most people finish in 2–3 months. Nebraska requires 96 hours of pre-license education (90 hours across three courses plus a 6-hour professional practice course), a Pearson exam, a fingerprint background check, and 12 hours of post-license education within 180 days. Iowa also requires 96 hours. Full guide here.
I've been in the business 20 years. Is this for me?
One of our agents was independent for over 20 years and never sold more than 5 homes in a year. She closed 26 in her first 7 months with us.
